Senior Manager, Forensics Expert, CISSP

Robb is the Senior Manager of Forensic Investigations at LCG where he provides leadership in day-to-day operations by working with staff and executive personnel. He is directly responsible for the overall management of highly technical and complex projects, conducting and supervising all levels of forensic analyses, and managing the LCG digital forensics laboratory. He has 28 years of Information Technology (IT) & cyber security experience, 16 years of which include training and experience in all levels of digital forensic analyses.

Robb has spent 22 years supporting the United States Department of Defense/Military (DoD) and the Intelligence Community (IC) in various roles including as a digital forensic examiner responsible for the management of the forensic workflow process from the battlefield to final intelligence reporting. During his time in the IC, he had six deployments to US Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR) combat zones resulting in four years in the field where he directly supported combat and intelligence operations. While working for the Department of Defense (DoD), during this 11-year period he worked on over 2000 highly technical/confidential investigations that consisted of forensic analyses of all varieties of digital evidence sources in matters including counterterrorism and criminal cases. These cases ranged from complex document forgery and money laundering to international kidnapping and murder that required direct and extensive interagency collaboration with numerous government agencies within the IC. Throughout his tenure in the IC, Robb worked on as well as oversaw the examination and reporting of several high-profile cases.

Robb’s responsibilities at DoD went well beyond digital forensic analyses and included the design and oversight of the building of new forensic tools used by the U.S. Government in service of National Security goals and requirements. This work resulted in the presentation of a DoD Value Engineering Award for a new forensic tool and concept. Robb was also responsible for the training/education of new and seasoned forensic analysts including the design and implementation of training/educational courses that remain in use today. Courses included those for intelligence topics and critical thinking as well as the exploitation of digital media for various combatant commands resulting in thousands of graduates over the last ten years.

After his service in government, Robb worked in the United Arab Emirates as a senior instructor for three (3) years at a Cyber Security Academy where he designed and taught courses in digital forensics, operating systems fundamentals, open-source intelligence, critical thinking and intelligence analysis. Further, Robb holds numerous digital forensics and information technology/cybersecurity certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), an independent information security certification granted by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (held since 2003), and the Computer Incident Response and Handling (GCIH Certification) provided by the SANS institute.
